HOPES: New Parent Program
What is the HOPES New Parent Program?
A voluntary in-home program to offer prenatal support and education to women during and after pregnancy. The program is completely Free.
What is a Family Support Worker?
This is the person who will offer ongoing support, information and education. The FSW understands the questions and stresses you have as a parent. She/he will share in your joys and successes in parenting.
What Services are offered by the HOPES program?
- Basic infant care education
- Child development education
- Assistance in teaching children appropriate behavior
- Referrals to medical providers
- Referrals to community resources
- Depression screenings (post-natal)
- Transportation to well baby check-ups
- Activities to do with baby
- Assistance in managing household
How do families become part of HOPES New Parent Program?
Families can enroll in HOPES
- By calling 515-432-6034 or by email: chris.rubino@lsiowa.org
- Receiving a referral from human service agencies, health professionals, churches, schools, counselors, or clergy.
