Child Care Provider Professional Development Reimbursement
Boone County Empowerment supports professional development of all area Child care providers, whether working in centers, preschools; non-registered child development homes and registered child development homes are eligible for a reimbursement of registration fees paid for training classes attended between July 1, 2007 and June 31, 2008.
Reimbursements will be granted with the following restrictions:
- Non-Registered, Registered A & B Child Development Homes - $100/program
- Registered C Child Development Homes - $200/program ($100 per person)
- Licensed Centers & Preschools - $100/staff employee of the program
Eligibility guidelines include:
- Child care provider must be caring for at least one child (0-5 years of age), other than their own, in Boone County.
- Training must have been paid for and attended between July 1, 2007 and June 31, 2008.
- Training content must be related to early childhood, issues related to caring for children, or operating early childhood programs, AND meet Iowa DHS training requirements as identified in State DHS Licensing Codes or State DHS Registration Guidelines.
- CCR Leading Library paid membership.
- Because Empowerment funds are restricted to those caring for children 0 - 5 years of age, child care providers in programs limited to children ages 6 years and older are not eligible for this program. To request your reimbursement, please complete this form and attach requested documentation.
- Centers and Preschools must submit separate request and evaluation forms for each staff member.
Please submit your paperwork by the following deadlines:
- January 1 to March 30, 2008 postmarked by April 11, 2008
- April 1 to June 31, 2008 postmarked by July 11, 2008
Additional information:
- Before requests for reimbursement can be paid out to child care programs, Boone County Empowerment must release the funds to CCR. It is our intention to issue reimbursement checks within 2 weeks of Boone County Empowerment payment.
- You will be contacted by telephone or in writing if your information is incomplete or there are questions about the materials you submit. Child Care Providers/Programs who do not complete the required reporting documents, as required by Boone County Empowerment, will not be eligible for future reimbursements.
- Funding for Boone County Empowerment is determined on a year-to-year basis by the Iowa Legislature. Program availability and/or requirements are subject to change under Boone County Empowerment priorities and procedures.
